One rider is on the inside lane and the other is in the outside lane every time. The difference in length of the two lanes is only 2.5%.

How many times do you think the rider in the outside lane will win?

On the American - Double Zero roulette wheel numbers are placed in such an order to prevent a player's ability to cover a section of the wheel with only a few chips. At the same time this placement of numbers will allow a dealer to successfully avoid the high value bets.

Here are a couple of examples:

The player bets $100 on ODD. The dealer will attempt to place the ball around the single zero. Numbers in this section go in this order. 14 - 2 --0 - 28 - 9 - 26 - 30. Notice that the only number that is odd is the # 9. Even a mediocre dealer will rarely miss this seven spaces section.

If a player plays Second Dozen, the dealer will try to place the ball around single or double zero. In this case there are two sections on the wheel of eight spaces without any digits in the second dozen. They are: 2 - 0 - 28 - 9 - 26 - 30 - 11 -7 and  1 - 00 - 2 7- 10 - 25 - 29 - 1 2 - 8.

For every possible bet there is section of the wheel without a winning number.

If you have watched roulette being played, you must have noticed that nearly  the entire board is covered with bets. The dealer will throw the ball and hit one of the uncovered numbers nearly every time. What Luck?!

There's no luck to it. He may have spotted 23, 35,14, 2, 0, 28 and 9 with no bets.
These numbers are all over the betting board and appear as being isolated. Wrong! They are in exact order on a wheel and form seven spaces on the uncovered section of the wheel.

In this case he cheated all the players at the same time. How can he cheat all six players constantly, you ask?!. He doesn't. Players normally play with so called table chips. Casinos always assume these chips belong to a table. They never count them at the end of a shift. As soon as a player wins all of the table chips the dealer will pay him with "money" chips. The dealer will then concentrate on the winning player to win back winnings and move onto the next player.

The smart dealer lets you win occasionally so that you always come back for another chance. So much for the random game.

European or single zero roulette wheel is less greedy but still has its secrets.
